Session 11 Preview
Experts tell us that it takes about four weeks to change a habit. By now, we’ve had the chance to change and solidify our people skills and communications habits several times over. We are becoming unconsciously competent at higher levels than many of us thought possible just 10 sessions ago.

In preparation for Session 11, please:
1) For Session 11A, prepare a two-minute report on your application of any of the Human Relations principles during the course. This presentation is the cumulative product of all of your efforts to win friends and influence people. It should not be a repeat of a previously given report. Use the Magic Formula. Read pages 11.4-11.8 in your Participant Manual and complete the “Be a Human Relations Champion Report Planning Sheet” on page 11.9.

2) For Session 11B, prepare a two-minute report on a specific incident that had an emotional and powerful impact on you. Use this experience to inspire the group. Tell us what impact the experience had on your life. Speak from the depth of your heart with feeling and conviction. Remember this is a magic formula report, so please think of a specific incident to convey your report. This is an opportunity to use all of the skills you have gained to communicate a message of importance. Read page 11.14 of your Participant Manual and complete the “Inspire Others Report Planning Sheet” on page 11.15.

3) Come prepared to discuss examples of how you are applying the Dale Carnegie concepts (like using cushions, stating your opinions with evidence, or your use of the managing worry principles).

4) Be prepared to tell us what particular part of the readings listed below had an effect on you and why.
