Session 5 Review
“What an incredible session! We truly learned that we have far more reserve power to bring to bear on challenging situations that many of us imagined possible. We brought our communication skills to a new level and as a result have shown that we have the right to be heard.”

Session 5A Highlights: Energize out Communications
Issues Addressed
- How can we help our listeners better understand our message?
- How can we harness our natural nervous energy to better engage our audience while reducing our stress?

Session 5B Highlights: Unleash Our Full Potential
Issues Addressed
- When push comes to shove, are we assertive enough (not aggressive) to be heard and found credible?
- How might it affect our team and organizational results if we speak up more often and are counted?

Session 6 Preview
Do you need to make ideas so clear that can’t be misunderstood? Do you want to be able to handle impromptu communication situations with the highest degree of professionalism? This session provides these benefits and much more. Please clear your calendar and make attending Session 6 a top priority!

In preparation for Session 6, please:

1) Prepare a two-minute report by teaching us something related to your job that will be interesting for others to learn. Bring this example to life by using an exhibit or visual. Use the LIONS formula (page 6.4 in your Participant Manual). Read and complete the “Make Our Ideas Clear Report Planning Sheet on page 6.5.

2) No formal preparation is required for Session 6B. Read pages 6.10-6.11 of your Participant Manual for an overview.

4) Come prepared to discuss examples of how you are applying the Dale Carnegie concepts (like the magic formula, your use of the worry and stress principles, and enthusiasm).

5) Be prepared to tell us what particular part of the readings listed below had an effect on you and why.
